HGV DRIVER TRAMPING

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Driver Tramping to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles on long-distance routes, often involving multiple stops across different regions. Duties

• Safely operate heavy goods vehicles, including flatbed trucks, on long-distance routes across multiple regions
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
• Load and secure cargo on flatbed trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety measures are followed
• Deliver goods accurately and efficiently to designated locations, adhering to delivery schedules and customer requirements
• Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and any incidents during trips
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams regarding delivery updates or issues encountered during trips
• Comply with all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies throughout each journey

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on long-distance or tramp routes
• Strong knowledge of flatbed operations and cargo securing techniques
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV license (including relevant endorsements)
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks related to cargo loading/unloading and securing loads
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients during deliveries
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to heavy goods vehicle operation
• Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and efficiency in logistics roles

Pay: £12.85-£23.11 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 per week
