HGV Mechanic - Nights

Job Summary

Duties

• Perform routine inspections, MOT's and preventative maintenance on HGVs, including trucks & trailers
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and electrical diagrams to identify faults accurately
• Conduct repairs utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
• Assemble and replace components such as brakes, axles, engines, and electrical systems with precision
• Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used for compliance and tracking purposes

Requirements

• Proven experience in heavy vehicle or equipment repair with a strong mechanical background
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques for vehicle repairs
• Knowledge of electrical systems within heavy machinery and vehicles
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during maintenance tasks
• Experience working with heavy equipment such as forklifts is preferred
• Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when needed
• Class 1 license preferred but not essential

Pay: £23.00-£26.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
