The Role

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Level 3 Qualified HGV Technician to join our dedicated late shift team. Operating in our well-equipped workshop, you will handle a diverse range of heavy goods vehicles and commercial transport. Your focus will be on high-quality workmanship to ensure our customers' fleets remain safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.

This permanent position offers a strict Monday-to-Friday schedule (16:00 – 23:00) with absolutely no weekend work, making it the perfect opportunity for an experienced mechanic looking for an excellent work-life balance alongside strong earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out routine servicing, safety inspections, pre-MOT test preparation, and mechanical repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards.
• Diagnostics: Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Quality Control: Ensure work is completed "right first time" to minimise vehicle downtime for our customers.
• Compliance: Complete electronic job cards, service sheets, and VOSA documentation accurately and thoroughly via a tablet using Blue Crystal Workshop Pro software.
• MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing and present them if required.
• Safety First: Maintain a clean, organised workspace and strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or IMI equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience: Proven track record working as an HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Fitter, or Trailer Technician.
• Licence: A full manual UK driving licence is required. An HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence is preferred but not essential.
• Skills: Strong fault-finding capabilities, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and pride in high-quality workmanship.
