We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised High Growth Administration Assistant to join the West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) and play a vital role in supporting ambitious, high-growth businesses across the region. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building relationships, and take pride in delivering exceptional administrative support, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Who are we?

The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.

From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.

We are building a sharper, business-focused organisation that attracts investment, supports high-growth companies and drives measurable economic impact.

If you want your work to shape how growth is delivered across one of the UK’s most important regions, this is your opportunity.

The Role

As our new High Growth Administration Assistant, you'll provide essential support to the High Growth Service Manager, High Growth Consultants, and High Growth Support Executives. You'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service while engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local authorities, universities, finance providers, and policy makers.

You'll be involved in:

  • Providing High-Level Administrative Support - Supporting the High Growth Service Team with administrative, operational, and organisational activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Acting as a Key Point of Contact - Managing enquiries, welcoming visitors, and delivering an excellent customer experience across the WM Growth Hub.
  • Supporting Stakeholder Engagement - Building effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to support the successful delivery of the growth agenda.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the High Growth Service Team with day-to-day administration and coordination activities.
  • Managing meeting bookings, logistics, diaries, and scheduling requirements.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, and incoming enquiries.
  • Producing presentations, reports, correspondence, itineraries, and other documentation to a high standard.
  • Maintaining CRM systems, databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, prioritising communications and supporting relationship management activities.
  • Supporting office operations, including stationery and resource management.
  • Assisting with social media activity and wider team projects where required.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with data protection and information security requirements.
  • Working collaboratively across the organisation to support businesses throughout the West Midlands.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Experience in an administrative, business support, or operational support role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • A positive, customer-focused, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build strong working relationships.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a dynamic organisation supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging with public sector, private sector, or higher education partners.
  • Knowledge of business support organisations and the West Midlands business landscape.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and database management.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • 26 days holiday
  • Company pension scheme including life assurance
  • Hybrid working with 2 days in the office
  • Cycle to work
  • Simple Health employee membership scheme
