What they need
CULTURE & SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP
Traders Point Christian Church defines our culture by these three gospel-centered values: humble, hungry and healthy. We expect and hold staff accountable to live out these values through their behaviors daily. We expect staff to humble themselves before God and others, work hard and unto God to advance His mission. We expect staff to maintain focus on their health: relationally, physically, mentally and spiritually. We expect staff to be active members of the church who contribute to the church’s mission and vision. We expect staff to serve as spiritual leaders to our church body by being part of a group, serving, attending service and tithing.
JOB SUMMARY
The High School Pastor provides leadership and direction for students in 9-12th grade at the Northwest campus. Because of the broad base of families and volunteer leaders involved in youth ministry, this team member provides influence to the overall campus experience. By leading well, casting vision, willingness to be a part of the bigger picture of Traders Point Youth, and maintaining a healthy culture in their sphere of influence, the ministry should contribute to the overall attendance growth, engagement growth through serving, a stronger invite culture, and next steps taken by those who are a part of it – adults and youth alike.
The High School Pastor will directly lead the Difference Makers for High School small groups, including recruiting, onboarding, training, equipping and providing on-going pastoral care for those adult leaders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS
Serve as the primary pastor/shepherd for a Difference Maker team of 50+ adult small group leaders and 200+ high school students and their families.
Build an inspired team:
Identify and inspire adults to take next steps by serving in Traders Point Youth
Ensure that team members and leaders are well-placed based on their gifts, passions, and skills.
Provide training and ongoing development by utilizing the many resources TPCC has to offer.
Create a relational atmosphere among the leader team to make sure they feel needed and known.
Contribute to an excellent Traders Point Youth Midweek experience:
Work with the Northwest Youth team weekly to create an excellent, fun, and meaningful service that utilizes music (TBD), games, competitions, the message, and great environments for small groups.
Provide energetic yet appropriate direction and leadership from the stage to transition through each element of the Midweek experience.
Follow up with high school students, leaders, parents, and students who attend for the first time, made a decision, or show an interest in serving.
Youth Pastors will facilitate and lead four open doors a student can walk through and where leaders can serve:
MIDWEEK: Through Wednesday night experiences, we invite students to hang out with friends, hear a relevant message, and participate in a small group. In small groups, students can ask real questions, learn from God’s word, and encourage each other.
YOUTH SERVE: Whether greeting or serving coffee in Guest Experience, starting a recycling campaign at their school, or any other service, we want to help youth discover their Kingdom purpose. By offering opportunities and clear paths to serve in our church and communities, we help them find how they can make a difference.
YOUTH NIGHT: We host Youth Night several times a year, and it’s an amazing opportunity for students to invite their friends, worship God, have a lot of fun, and hear an inspiring message that will activate their faith. Youth Night is a centrally executed event that campus staff contribute to: programming, experience, and bringing and inviting students from their campus.
SUMMER CAMP: Summer camps are a chance for teens to encounter Jesus, build lasting friendships, and discover how they can make a difference in the world. We partner with Christ in Youth to execute middle and high school camps.
Provide leadership to the overall campus team:
Engage with families and students in the lobby to share about Traders Point Youth, opportunities to serve on the weekend, and recruit adult leaders to serve in Midweek.
May take a leadership role in planning and executing campus-wide events and experiences which requires coordinating multiple teams of staff and team members outside of TPY.
Provide pastoral leadership and care to campus.
Provide support and leadership to Traders Point Youth globally:
Create and contribute to the content and programming teams, based on skill and interest (leadership development, groups, Midweek scripts, youth night programming, social media)
Contribute to planning and execution of global TPY events (Youth Night, Summer Camp)
