High School Volleyball Coach

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute engaging volleyball practices that develop technical skills, tactical understanding, and team cohesion.
• Lead the team during matches, providing strategic guidance and motivating players to perform at their best.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing safety protocols and promoting respectful behavior among students.
• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and student development.
• Implement training sessions that incorporate sports-specific techniques such as passing, serving, blocking, and game strategy.
• Manage team logistics including equipment maintenance, game scheduling, and attendance tracking.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and positive behavior both on and off the court through effective behavior management strategies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in sports coaching with a focus on volleyball; previous high school coaching experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and strategies; ability to teach fundamentals to students of varying skill levels.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or extracurricular setting.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.
• Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; AED operation knowledge is highly desirable.
• Additional experience in related sports such as soccer coaching or basketball can enhance your effectiveness as a versatile coach.
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster a respectful team environment.
• Passion for physical education and youth development combined with sports-specific training instruction skills.
