Highway Inspector

QES Engineering Inspection is seeking an experienced Highway****Inspector to join our team. The Highway Inspector will complete oversight and inspection of complicated heavy, highway bridges and structures. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret plans, work in adverse water conditions, and climb structures (as needed).

This position has room for GROWTH and has the potential to transition into a Structures Manager, depending on overall performance. Long-term employment opportunities are available with QES!

Responsibilities:

• Complete oversight and inspection of complicated heavy highway bridges and structures
• Prepare daily documentation and complete forms as needed
• Complete measurements and calculations daily
• Ensure the construction adheres to the project plans, specifications and special provisions
• Verify the proper materials and methods of construction are being performed

Requirements:

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma. Bachelors’ degree or higher in a civil engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must have 5+ years of similar structural inspection experience.
• Must be NICET certified (either NICET II or III)
• Previous experience on PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) projects is a PLUS.
• PennDOT Concrete and NECEPT Bituminous are preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
