HIL Modelling engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HIL Modeling & Hardware Engineer to develop, integrate, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation environments for automotive ECUs and vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain HIL plant models for automotive systems and ECUs.
• Configure and integrate HIL hardware, I/O modules, signal conditioning, and communication interfaces .
• Develop and validate real-time models using MATLAB/Simulink .
• Configure dSPACE, NI PXI, or similar HIL platforms .
• Perform CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet communication testing.
• Integrate ECUs with HIL benches and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Develop and execute HIL test cases and automated regression tests.
• Analyze test failures, logs, and system behavior to identify root causes.
• Work with CANoe/CANalyzer, ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, Python, CAPL , and related tools.
• Support ECU flashing, diagnostics, calibration, and UDS testing.
• Perform hardware debugging using oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators , and other lab equipment.
• Document HIL architecture, models, test procedures, and results.
• Collaborate with controls, embedded software, validation, and systems engineering teams.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in HIL testing/modeling and automotive embedded systems .
• Hands-on experience with dSPACE or NI HIL platforms .
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink modeling experience.
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD/LIN and automotive communication protocols.
• Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer .
• Knowledge of ECU diagnostics, UDS, and automotive testing.
• Programming/scripting experience in Python, CAPL, or MATLAB .
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience with real-time simulation and HIL test automation.

Preferred:

• Experience with ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, SCALEXIO, MicroAutoBox, or NI PXI .
• Experience with SIL/MIL/HIL development and validation.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR, ECU integration, and vehicle networks .
• Experience with automotive powertrain, body, chassis, ADAS, or electrification systems.
