HIL Test Engineer

Summary
We are seeking a HILS Software Test Engineer (Python automation, dSPACE) to convert manual test procedures into automated ones and execute them on a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HILS) rig. This role combines HILS test integration, software configuration, requirements-based test authoring, and hybrid manual and automated testing in an onsite environment.

General information
This engagement supports a production software and systems team working on software testing across multiple projects. The focus is on adapting existing manual procedures, creating new test procedures from stakeholder requirements, integrating hardware under test with HILS equipment, and managing test coverage throughout automation development.

The role requires hands-on work with production electronics and in-person operation of the HILS rig. Onsite work in Kennesaw, Georgia is required because the HILS and dSPACE equipment must be operated directly.

Tasks and Deliverables

• Adapt procedures provided by manual testing teams into automated testing procedures.
• Manage software configuration on hardware systems under test.
• Integrate hardware systems under test with HILS test equipment.
• Write novel software testing procedures based on requirements from product stakeholders.
• Implement automated testing processes using HILS software tools and scripting.
• Manually operate production electronics as part of testing procedures.
• Manage test coverage against testing requirements over the course of automation development.

Required experience

• 1-2 years of experience in software testing or development.
• Experience with the dSPACE suite of software tools.
• Python fluency.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HILS) test integration and test automation scripting.
• Experience with automated testing workflows.
• Strong communication skills for discussing technical requirements and implementation details with stakeholders.
• Creativity and problem-solving ability.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
