Position Title: HIM Audit Consultant

Job Type: Full- Time, Exempt

Purpose/Mission

This position provides specialized consulting expertise in healthcare audit services, compliance and quality performance measures. The employee will participate in revenue cycle assessments in relation to HIM services and audit for client organizations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and management of audit operations, including client relations, staffing, process improvement, technology, and quality performance measures.
• Observe and analyze revenue cycle operations in relation to HIM and the middle revenue cycle.
• Evaluate performance relative to industry standards and best practices (metrics, organizational structure, roles and policies/practices).
• Develop and present opportunities and recommendations for improvement (verbally and in writing)
• Develop and present coding and provider educational offerings to meet client needs.
• Facilitate work plan implementation and provide ongoing support.
• Assist in the enhancement and expansion of RCS service offerings.
• Maintain professional and productive work environment.
• Perform related duties as required.

Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in related area required; certification from healthcare business/finance organization preferred (e.g. AHIMA, HFMA, AAHAM, NAHAM)
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare audit services and revenue cycle procedures acquired through significant and progressively responsible work experience in provider business operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Work experience may be substituted for education and certification

Other Requirements

• Position requires ability to travel to client sites nationwide by automobile and air; flexibility needed for occasional extended days and weekend work
