Position Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced 5-Ton Truck Owner-Operator to join our Edmonton delivery operations.

The ideal candidate must own or have reliable access to a 5-ton truck and have previous experience in commercial deliveries, freight handling, and local transportation.

IMPORTANT: Applicants MUST have their own 5-ton truck or confirmed access to one. This is an owner-operator position, not a company-driver position.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 5-ton truck for local deliveries and pickups throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas.
• Transport parcels, palletized freight, and other commercial shipments.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries according to assigned schedules.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload shipments to prevent damage.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including Proof of Delivery (POD).
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery updates, delays, or operational issues.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and ensure the truck remains in safe operating condition.
• Follow all applicable transportation regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers.

Requirements

• Must own or have reliable access to a 5-ton truck.
• Valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle and a clean driving record.
• Previous experience operating a 5-ton truck in commercial deliveries or freight transportation.
• Good knowledge of Edmonton and surrounding areas.
• Experience handling palletized freight and operating a power tailgate is an asset.
• Ability to safely handle freight and perform loading/unloading duties when required.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to provide vehicle registration, commercial insurance, and other required documentation.
