Job Role - Development Engineer Part Development / NPD

Location: Hosur

Job Summary

Looking for a Development Engineer with strong experience in automotive part development, manufacturing feasibility, fabrication and welding. The role involves end-to-end development and industrialization of pressing and fabricated parts from engineering specification to PPAP and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pressing, sheet-metal, fabrication and welded parts as per engineering drawings/specifications.
• Review GD&T, critical characteristics and manufacturing feasibility and provide DFM/DFA inputs.
• Define manufacturing process routes, tooling, fixtures and welding processes.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, suppliers and tooling vendors for NPD activities.
• Handle APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and process validation.
• Conduct supplier process reviews, trials and development audits to achieve QCD targets.
• Support part/tool costing, target cost and cost reduction activities.
• Drive process improvement, automation and Poka-Yoke initiatives.
• Ensure timely part development as per project milestones and support SOP readiness.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM is preferred.
