Position - Mechanical Engineer

Business Unit: Power Business Unit (PBU)
Work Location: Chennai

Experience: 4 - 9 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to implement and execute Electrical engineering design with the assistance of Designers for T&D projects.

Job Description:

• Prepare Mechanical design meeting quality and schedule requirements.
• Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures.
• Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
• Determine construction cost and material estimates based on the designs.
• Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints.
• Use latest software and technologies to develop effective designs.
• Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes.
• Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing the designs.
• Execute design projects within allotted timelines and MHs.
• Stay abreast with the latest developments with relevant design fields.
• Ensure compliance with QMS requirements.
• Provide assistance to senior design team members

Skills Required:

• Good know how on design of mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting) for substations, industries and plants from base design, detail
• design trough IFC stages. Working knowledge on T&D functions w.r.t construction in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Experience in preparing basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs, heat load, static head, pump head, pipe sizing calculations, space planning, mechanical room design, sizing & selection, design complete system air side, water side and DX-systems etc.
• Familiar with relevant codes & standards ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, AIA & HTM codes, International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), Saudi Building Code (SBC) etc.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software HAP & Elite heat load calculations, MS Excel, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
• Quick learner, adoptive to new environments and challenges, team player with extra skills in presentations and personal relations.
