Histocompatibility Lab Supervisor

Stanford Blood Center’s HLA Laboratory supports hematopoietic stem cell and solid organ transplants, transfusion medicine, and HLA-related disease association and pharmacogenetics. We help save lives every day.

Stanford Blood Center (SBC) seeks a day shift supervisor for our HLA Laboratory. The ideal candidate must have a CHT license, at least 5 years experience in an HLA lab and a bachelor's degree in a related field. We invite you to apply if you meet these requirments.

Under the general direction of the HLA Medical Directors, and the HLA Clinical Operations Manager, the HLA Supervisor will be responsible to provide direct oversight of licensed personnel in the Serology/Molecular clinical laboratories and coordination of clinical testing, personnel management, and administrative functions for the HLA laboratory. Maintains a broad high-level view of the laboratory's overall operations including all clinical work and regulatory compliance. Fulfills the duties of General Supervisor as defined by regulatory agencies (CLIA, ASHI, CDPH).

Requirements

• Minimum five years of histocompatibility lab required
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or life science
• CHT certification from ACHI (formerly ABHI) required; CHS certification preferred
• Must hold or qualify for California license: Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (MTR) license (you qualify if you are certified by ABHI as CHS or CHT), OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MTA) license (you qualify if you are certified by ASCP or AAB as a medical technologist)
• If currently out-of-state, you must apply for the California license before your first day of work, and license must be granted within 3 months of start date

Pay: $72.64 - $98.23 per hour
