Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Histotechnician, where you will play a vital role in preparing and processing tissue samples for pathology and research laboratories. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in histological techniques, laboratory procedures, and medical terminology to support accurate diagnosis and groundbreaking research. You will work closely with pathologists, researchers, and laboratory staff to ensure the highest standards of specimen preparation, tissue sectioning, and laboratory testing are maintained. Your contributions will directly impact patient care, scientific discovery, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

Duties

• Prepare tissue samples through precise cutting, embedding, and sectioning using advanced laboratory tissue sectioning techniques
• Perform histological staining procedures such as immunohistochemistry to facilitate detailed tissue analysis
• Maintain strict adherence to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations to ensure quality and compliance
• Operate and troubleshoot medical laboratory equipment including microtomes, cryostats, and staining machines
• Collect, process, and handle specimens with aseptic technique while ensuring patient safety and sample integrity
• Document all procedures accurately within Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), including specimen tracking and test results.

Experience

• Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP
• BLS
• 1 Year experience required

Pay: $40.00 - $47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
