HMC setter cum operator

Job Responsibilities

• Set and operate Horizontal Machining Centre (HMC) machines as per production requirements.
• Perform machine setting, tool setting, work offset setting, and job loading/unloading.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications.
• Set and adjust cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Edit and modify CNC programs as required for production.
• Check and maintain tool offsets, wear offsets, and cutting parameters.
• Carry out first-piece inspection and ensure components meet drawing specifications.
• Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, and Dial Gauge.
• Monitor machining operations and identify dimensional or surface-finish issues.
• Make necessary offset corrections to maintain component quality.
• Follow production schedules, process sheets, and work instructions.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow basic preventive maintenance practices.
• Follow all safety, quality, and 5S procedures.
• Minimize rejection, rework, tool consumption, and machine downtime.
• Maintain production and inspection records.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in HMC machine setting and operation.
• Good knowledge of CNC machining processes.
• Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls will be an advantage.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machining and dimensional issues.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
