Job Title : HMI Engineer

Location: Saitama, Japan

Language Requirement: Japanese Proficiency - JLPT N3 or N2 & above

The HMI Engineer will support development and maintenance activities for one or several HMI-related electrical components, systems, or technical areas.

Core responsibilities include:

• Lead or support development activities for assigned HMI-related electrical components or technical areas.
• Work closely with Japanese or English suppliers to follow up technical topics, open issues, timing, quality, cost, and risks.
• Review supplier specifications, design documents, test results, release material, and other technical documentation.
• Define and follow up component-level requirements, time plans, deliverables, and open issues.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, verification, and vehicle or rig testing when required.
• Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project members in Japanese and English.

Min deliverables to be achieved:

• Supplier activities, open issues, timing, and deliverables followed up and reported.
• Supplier documentation, test results, and release material reviewed.
• Component-level requirements, time plans, and issue lists maintained.
• Component integration, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and verification activities supported when required.
• Risks and issues escalated to relevant stakeholders when support is needed.

Required competences:

• Business-level Japanese communication, including technical discussion and coordination with Japanese suppliers
• Engineering experience in product development, electrical/electronic systems, embedded systems, system engineering, project coordination, quality improvement, or automotive engineering
• Ability to coordinate supplier activities, follow up open issues, and drive topics toward closure
• Ability to review technical documentation such as specifications, design documents, test results, and release material
• Basic English communication capability, including reading technical documents, writing status updates, and explaining technical topics in meetings or presentations
• Understanding of automotive electrical/electronic systems and vehicle integration
• Experience in electrical component development such as switches, sensors, buzzers, horns, actuators, power outlets, chargers, audio devices, cameras, or related electrical/electronic components
• Understanding of mechanical installation, packaging, CAD drawings, or 2D drawings
• Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, verification, or vehicle/rig testing
