Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that match their interests and needs
• Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer handling with precision
• Conduct product demonstrations and showcase new or featured items to engage customers and encourage sales
• Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, attractive, and well-maintained
• Provide knowledgeable advice on hobby-related products such as games, collectibles, craft supplies, or specialty items
• Assist with merchandising efforts to create eye-catching displays that highlight key products and promotions
• Support upselling initiatives by recommending complementary items and special offers to maximize sales opportunities

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
• Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities and phone etiquette
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership in a retail environment is a plus
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail math calculations such as change, discounts, and totals
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and inventory stocking procedures
• Experience in conducting product demos or engaging customers through interactive displays
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve our diverse customer base effectively
• Previous grocery store or retail experience is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for hobbies is essential
