Home Care Assistant – Bolsover, Clowne & Renishaw Area

Shifts: 07:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide essential support to clients in their own homes across the Bolsover, Clowne and Renishaw areas. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while fostering a supportive atmosphere.

Working two shift patterns: 07:00–14:00 (mornings) and 14:00–22:00 (afternoons/evenings), with additional hours available on request. The majority of calls will be on a double-up basis, where you will work alongside one of our experienced carers. This offers a great opportunity for those new to care to build confidence and skills quickly and effectively.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Help with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
• Support clients in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
• Follow care plans as outlined by healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible support for clients.
• Drive clients to appointments or social engagements as required.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to relevant parties.

Requirements

• Experience in home care or a related field is preferred but not essential — full training provided.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English to effectively interact with clients and their families.
• Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members.
• A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential — you'll be travelling between client homes across Bolsover, Clowne and Renishaw).
• A caring attitude and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you assist.

What we're looking for

• Kind, dependable nature and a real desire to help people live well at home.
• Full UK driving licence & access to a car (essential).
• Fluent English – clear spoken and written communication.
• Availability for either the 07:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00 shift pattern (or both).
