About the role

EV CONNECTION SDN. BHD. is seeking a talented Home Charging Engineer / Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with practical field experience to support the growing electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector. As a Home Charging Engineer / Electrical Engineer, you will play an essential part in designing, installing, and maintaining residential EV charging solutions that are shaping the future of sustainable transportation. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of renewable energy technology whilst contributing to Malaysia's EV ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop home charging systems that meet electrical safety standards and customer requirements
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for residential EV charging installations
• Perform electrical installation, configuration, and testing of home charging units and associated infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with charging equipment and electrical systems
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices
• Prepare technical documentation, including schematic drawings, installation reports, and maintenance logs
• Liaise with customers to understand their charging needs and provide technical guidance
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve charging solutions and identify opportunities for innovation
• Conduct preventative maintenance and perform repairs on existing charging installations
• Stay updated with the latest developments in EV charging technology and electrical engineering standards

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline

• Hands-on experience with residential or commercial electrical systems and wiring

• Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, battery systems, or renewable energy technologies (preferred)

• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance requirements

• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Physical ability to perform field work, including climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Valid driving license and reliable transportation

• Willingness to undertake continuous professional development and training
