Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
• Monitor patient vital signs and observe health status to report changes promptly to healthcare professionals
• Support medication administration following prescribed guidelines while maintaining accurate medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or developmental disabilities, including memory care techniques and behavioral management
• Perform catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as trained, adhering to home healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Assist with mobility and patient transfers using proper techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer methods to prevent injury
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while communicating effectively with clients and their families

Skills

• Proven experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with disabilities, or in assisted living environments
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical documentation practices
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical tasks such as laundry, cleaning, meal preparation, and light housekeeping duties
• Excellent client communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving techniques tailored to each patient's needs
• Knowledge of home health care assistance regulations and best practices for hospice or end-of-life care
• Experience working within home health agency settings or live-in employment environments is highly desirable

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
