Position Title: Homemaker Specialist

Hours: 36-40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Position Title of Supervisor: Executive Director

Summary of Position: Provide seniors with household chores needed to live independently at home. The geographic area of assistance is within the Fairbanks City limits. Along with homemaker cleaning assistance, social interaction with seniors is important for their well-being. All Fairbanks Senior Center employees are mandatory reporters, strengthening protections for our aging population.

Work environment: NSCoA offers a family-friendly work environment. All offices are casual. We encourage open and honest communication between team members. The work environment is positive and friendly.

Responsibilities & Duties:

· Travel to senior's home to assist with homemaker tasks

· Light household duties: deemed necessary for independent living.

Examples: cleaning refrigerator, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, changing sheets, vacuuming, and other small household cleaning and organizing duties

· Meal Preparation

· Keeping detailed paperwork on homemaking services provided.

· Have client sign documentation as verification services were provided

· Ability to schedule appointments and keep them

· Keep track of mileage for reimbursement

· Keep good records of time management

· Other duties as described

· Carry out other assignments as required

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check

· Must have a valid driver's license

· Must be 18 years or older

· Must have your own form of transportation to and from the client's location

· Must have a caring personality and good communication skills

· Must have the ability to perform light lifting, bending, and light housework

· Must be able to lift 35 pounds

· Good at following through with required documentations

· Ability to work well in a team setting and alone

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
