Role Overview

We’re seeking a motivated Horticulture Assistant to join our team and support daily operations across all areas of the market garden. This role is ideal for someone passionate about organic farming, sustainability, and working outdoors in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in soil preparation, sowing, transplanting, and harvesting of crops.
• Maintain plant health through weeding, watering, composting, and pest management.
• Help manage polytunnels and outdoor field crops throughout the growing season.
• Sort, grade, and pack produce for market.
• Support nursery propagation and seedling care.
• Maintain records of sowing dates, harvest yields, and plant care activities.
• Operate and maintain small tools and machinery safely.
• Assist with the sales/delivery process as needed.

Requirements

• Interest & experience in sustainable horticulture or organic farming.
• Good physical health with the ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 35.0 per week
