About the role

Landscape Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled and passionate Horticulturist to join our growing team in the West Region. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development and maintenance of high-quality landscape projects across the region. As a Horticulturist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, aesthetics and sustainability of our horticultural installations, working closely with our landscaping teams and clients to deliver exceptional results that enhance outdoor environments.

What you'll be doing

• Selecting, sourcing and recommending appropriate plants and horticultural materials for landscape projects, considering climate, soil conditions and design objectives
• Providing expert horticultural advice and guidance to clients and project teams regarding plant selection, placement and care requirements
• Planning and overseeing planting schemes and landscape installations to ensure optimal plant health and visual impact
• Conducting soil analysis and assessments to determine suitability for various planting applications
• Developing and implementing plant maintenance programmes, including watering, fertilisation, pest management and pruning schedules
• Monitoring the health and performance of established plantings and recommending corrective measures as needed
• Liaising with suppliers and nurseries to source quality plants and materials at competitive rates
• Preparing horticultural reports, specifications and detailed planting plans for landscape projects
• Ensuring compliance with environmental standards and sustainable horticultural practices
• Training and mentoring junior staff members on horticultural best practices and plant care techniques

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Design, Plant Science or a related discipline

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in horticulture, preferably within landscape design or installation projects

• In-depth knowledge of plant species, plant physiology, soil science and growing conditions relevant to tropical and subtropical climates

• Strong understanding of landscape design principles and the ability to translate design concepts into horticultural reality

• Proficiency in identifying plant diseases, pests and nutritional deficiencies, with experience in integrated pest management

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex horticultural information to clients and team members

• Physical capability to perform outdoor work, including manual handling and extended periods in variable weather conditions

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality horticultural outcomes

• Familiarity with horticultural software, design tools or CAD programmes is desirable

• Valid Singapore Driving Licence (Class 3) will be an advantage
