What they need

Hospitality Facilitator/Coordinator x 2 Fixed term, full-time positions available

We currently are hiring for two fixed-term, full-time roles delivering our Hospo Start programme across Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupō

About the roles

As a Hospo Start Facilitator/Coordinator, you'll work as part of a highly motivated team that's passionate about developing people and promoting hospitality as a rewarding career. You'll deliver Hospitality training to trainees at a foundation level, and use your industry networks to match participants to suitable full-time employment outcomes.

The two roles will work closely together, each bringing their specialist knowledge — one covering Front of House and Beverage service, the other covering Kitchen and Cookery — to give trainees a well-rounded foundation across the hospitality industry. Working days are scheduled Monday–Friday, with travel varying to accommodate the programme schedule across the Bay of Plenty region, and occasional trips to Auckland as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Recruitment and participant selection for the programme, including face-to-face interviews and phone screening
  • Planning, preparing and delivering entry-level hospitality training in your specialist area (FOH/Beverage or Kitchen/Cookery)
  • Industry networking and connection to find suitable vacancies for participants
  • Exploring work experience opportunities and placing trainees into employment
  • Ongoing mentoring and pastoral support for participants for up to 6 months post-placement
  • Supervising the training environment to ensure trainees are learning safely and productively
  • Administration and accurate reporting on participant progress to the Hospo Start Manager

About you - Both roles require:

  • Hands-on experience delivering group training, within an exciting and engaging learning environment
  • A strong desire to help people succeed and be motivated to assist positive change
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite (administration is a significant part of this role)
  • A full, clean driver's licence — travel throughout the Bay of Plenty is required
  • A positive, energetic, enthusiastic and adaptable attitude
  • Knowledge of Tikanga principles is a bonus
  • An Assessor's Qualification (Unit Standard 4098) or a Certificate in Adult Education (Level 5) is preferred
  • Experience in recruitment is advantageous
  • A clean criminal record
  • Front of House/Beverage Facilitator — Extensive experience in front-of-house service and/or beverage service (bar, café, restaurant floor); Confidence training front-of-house skills such as customer service, table service, POS systems and beverage knowledge
  • Kitchen/Chef Facilitator — Extensive (minimum 5 years) experience in cookery/cookery training; Experience teaching and assessing Food Safety Unit Standards is advantageous
