Host / Cashier

Position Summary

The Host/Cashier welcomes guests, coordinates seating, handles takeout orders and payments, and helps keep Lindo Mexico’s front-of-house service friendly, organized, and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Follow all Lindo Mexico policies and procedures.
• Prepare for busy periods and complete responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Communicate respectfully with servers, bussers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management.
• Follow applicable Michigan Liquor Control Commission rules.
• Complete the pre-opening, daily, and end-of-shift checklists assigned to the position.
• Keep the host stand, entrance, waiting area, menus, and patio clean and organized.
• Manage reservations, table availability, and wait-time updates using the table management/reservation app.
• Process cash and credit-card payments accurately using the POS system.
• Answer phones professionally and take accurate takeout orders.
• Restock supplies and wrap plasticware and silverware as assigned.
• Assist as needed with chips, salsa, water, table clearing, sweeping, wiping surfaces, and other front-of-house tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Outgoing personality with a professional appearance and great work ethic
• Positive and respectful attitude. Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Customer service experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Ability to follow Lindo Mexico policies, procedures, checklists, and management direction.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in English and Spanish to serve and assist Lindo Mexico guests.
• Ability to work well with others, both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to remain calm, friendly, and welcoming in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Basic math proficiency for handling transactions and cash register operations

Availability and Physical Requirements

• Weekend afternoon availability is required.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours.
• Ability to bend, twist, and reach, and lift or carry up to 10 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
