Position Overview:

The host is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere in a restaurant by greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and maintaining an organized waitlist. They play a key role in ensuring a smooth flow of guests by coordinating seating arrangements and communicating effectively with the waitstaff. Additionally, hostesses provide menus and information about daily specials while addressing any guest inquiries or concerns. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role, as it directly impacts the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive and create a positive first impression.
• Seating Arrangements: Manage the seating chart, assign tables, and escort guests to their seats.
• Managing Reservations: Handle reservations and maintain an organized waitlist during busy periods.
• Providing Menus: Distribute menus and inform guests of daily specials or promotions.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure the entrance and waiting areas are clean and inviting.
• Answering Phone Calls: Take phone inquiries and provide information about the restaurant, including hours and menu items.
• Coordinating with Staff: Communicate with waitstaff and management regarding guest flow and special requests.
• Assisting with Guest Needs: Address any guest concerns or requests to enhance their dining experience.
• Monitoring Guest Flow: Keep track of table availability and optimize seating to minimize wait times.
• Supporting Staff: Assist in training new hosts or hostesses and support the team as needed.

Pay: From $16.90 per hour
