ABOUT KINZ
KINZ is a Lebanese brasserie in the heart of Notting Hill, built around generous hospitality, fresh ingredients and the warmth of Lebanese cooking.
We want every guest to feel like they genuinely belong, from the moment they arrive. That begins and ends at reception, which is why we are looking for an experienced, warm and charismatic Host to join our team.
THE ROLE
You will be the first and last person many of our guests meet, so a natural ability to connect with people is important. We are looking for someone with personality and presence who can make guests feel recognised and looked after while remaining professional.
You will manage reservations and arrivals, keep an accurate view of the restaurant and work closely with the Head Host and floor team to maintain a smooth flow throughout service.
Previous hosting or restaurant reception experience is required, as is confidence using SevenRooms. Experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferable, but not essential.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
- Engage naturally with different people without becoming overfamiliar.
- Recognise returning guests and remember important preferences where possible.
- Keep waiting guests informed and comfortable.
- Handle questions or concerns calmly, involving a manager when needed.
- Thank guests as they leave and end their visit on a positive note.
Reservations and Seating
- Create, amend and manage reservations accurately in SevenRooms.
- Record guest preferences, special occasions and important booking notes.
- Review reservations and expected covers before each service.
- Manage arrivals, walk-ins, waiting lists, cancellations and no-shows.
- Maintain an accurate table plan with the Head Host.
- Monitor table progress and support a balanced seating flow.
- Communicate delays, changes and special requests clearly to the floor team.
Reception and Communication
- Answer telephone, email and in-person enquiries professionally.
- Provide accurate information about the restaurant and its services.
- Prepare and maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.
- Ensure menus and other guest materials are clean and ready.
- Attend briefings and stay informed about important bookings and events.
- Respect guest privacy and handle personal information responsibly.
Working as Part of the Team
- Work closely with the Head Host, managers and wider restaurant team.
- Respect the management structure and follow the correct hierarchy.
- Take direction well and ask questions when something is unclear.
- Accept feedback with humility and use it to improve.
- Support colleagues during busy periods.
- Take responsibility for mistakes and help put them right.
- Complete reasonable duties that contribute to a successful service.
ABOUT YOU
You will need:
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in a similar restaurant reception role.
- Confidence and practical experience using SevenRooms.
- Natural warmth, charisma and an engaging personality.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- The ability to stay calm and welcoming when service gets busy.
- A humble, dependable attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
- Respect for the team’s structure, standards and ways of working.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Professional spoken English.
Experience in a busy restaurant serving a high number of covers is an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A role within a new and growing restaurant in Notting Hill.
- Training and opportunities to develop.
- A supportive team and working environment.
- The chance to be part of a restaurant with a strong identity, a beautiful setting and ambitious plans.
