Job Description – Restaurant Host/HostessPosition Overview

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role is responsible for providing a warm welcome, managing reservations and seating, and ensuring smooth guest flow throughout the restaurant. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and organized, with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s booking system.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess stand and entrance area.
• Monitor dining areas to anticipate guest needs and seat rotation.
• Communicate with servers and management to ensure efficient service and balanced table assignments.
• Answer phones, take reservations, and provide accurate wait time estimates.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a similar role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to remain calm and friendly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk, bend, and carry light items such as menus or tableware.
