At CTZN, our service team is expected to embody a high standard of professionalism and hospitality.

The Role

At CTZN, the Host is the conductor of the dining room. You are responsible for controlling the guest journey from arrival to handoff to service, ensuring that the pace of seating supports exceptional food, beverage, and service execution.

This role requires awareness, confidence, and strict adherence to our Steps of Service.

Core Responsibilities (Aligned with CTZN Steps of Service)

Guest Arrival & First Impression

• Greet every guest within 30 seconds with eye contact, warmth, and confidence
• Acknowledge special occasions immediately when applicable
• Clearly explain the flow: bar seating, patio vs. dining room, and wait expectations
• Never leave guests wondering who will help them next

Seating & Flow Control

• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists through OpenTable with precision
• Seat tables intentionally to avoid overwhelming servers, bartenders, or the kitchen
• Follow CTZN pacing rules for table turns, section balance, and server load
• Communicate real wait times—never overpromise

Handoff to Service

• Introduce guests to their server by name whenever possible
• Ensure menus are presented properly and guests feel “handed off,” not abandoned
• Coordinate with server assistants and floor leadership during busy services

Communication & Team Coordination

• Maintain constant communication with FOH leadership, servers, and bar team
• Anticipate bottlenecks before they happen and adjust seating accordingly
• Support service recovery by alerting management early when needed

Professional Standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and calm host stand at all times
• Uphold CTZN’s tone: warm, confident, composed, never rushed or casual
• Represent the brand with polish, clarity, and authority

What We’re Looking For

• Previous hosting experience in a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant
• Strong understanding of pacing, timing, and guest psychology
• Calm and decisive under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and situational awareness
• Team-first mentality with leadership instincts
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and event nights
