Host

We are looking for friendly, outgoing Hosts who love making people—and their dogs—feel welcome. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you’ll help set the tone for a fun, organized, and memorable O.H.S.O. experience from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave.

In this role, you’ll greet guests, manage the waitlist, answer phones, seat tables, and help keep the front door running smoothly. You’ll work closely with servers, managers, and the rest of the front-of-house team to keep service moving and make sure every guest feels taken care of.

Dogs are a big part of the O.H.S.O. experience, so you must enjoy having four-legged guests around!

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm, friendly, and positive attitude
• Manage the waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates
• Answer phones, take reservations, and respond to guest questions
• Seat guests while balancing table preferences and server rotation
• Provide menus and answer basic questions about the restaurant
• Welcome four-legged guests by providing a fresh water bowl for every dog dining with us
• Monitor the dining room and waiting area to help maintain an organized flow
• Check in with guests and help address concerns when needed
• Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and other team members
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand, entryway, and waiting area
• Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed
• Thank guests and invite them to return as they leave

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable speaking with guests
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Positive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and guest-service skills
• Willingness to help wherever needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, typically between five and nine hours
• Must love dogs

Pay

• $15.15 to $17.00 per hour, based on experience

O.H.S.O. came to be when the three of us–Pat, Brian, and Jon–joined forces, blending our talents and shared passions. Pat had a background in the music business. Brian had years of experience in bar and restaurant management with a proven track record, creating owning and operating numerous successful bars, restaurants, and clubs. Our paths all converged while working at one of those establishments. Jon began as a door guy and quickly advanced, transitioning into roles as a bartender and manager until finally joining Brian in overseeing daily operations. Similarly, Pat made his mark as a sound guy, showcasing his talent for creating an exceptional atmosphere and booking bands while also being a musician. Driven by our shared joy of uniting people through food, drinks, and experiences, we knew we wanted to go beyond simply serving drinks. We aimed to create them and wanted our guests to be part of that magic too.

Pay: $15.15 - $17.00 / hour
