Job Summary

Gather in Omaha for Food & Drink is seeking a welcoming and organized Host to be the first point of contact for guests. This position helps create a smooth dining experience by greeting guests, managing seating, coordinating reservations, and supporting the front-of-house team throughout service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide professional hospitality from arrival to departure.
• Manage guest seating and maintain an organized flow throughout the dining room.
• Assist with reservations, waitlists, and guest inquiries.
• Communicate estimated wait times and seating information accurately.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus as needed.
• Coordinate closely with servers, managers, and other front-of-house staff.
• Monitor table availability and help maintain an efficient seating rotation.
• Answer phones and assist with basic guest questions when assigned.
• Keep the host stand, entry area, and nearby guest spaces clean and organized.
• Assist with special events, private dining, and other service needs as required.
• Follow restaurant service, safety, and guest-experience standards.

Qualifications

• Previous hosting, restaurant, hospitality, or customer-service experience is preferred.
• Friendly, confident, and professional communication style.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Comfortable working in a busy, full-service restaurant.
• Able to remain calm and courteous during high-volume periods.
• Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.
• Comfortable using reservation or POS systems.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About The Company

Gather in Omaha for Food & Drink is a modern American restaurant and cocktail bar located in Omaha's historic Old Market District at 1108 Howard Street. The restaurant features eclectic food and craft beverages, along with an on-site hydroponic vertical farm that supplies fresh greens and herbs for the kitchen.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
