Take Your Customer Service Skills Beyond the Phone

If you’re comfortable speaking with customers, answering questions, and keeping conversations professional, the next step could be putting those skills into a more face-to-face environment.

We’re looking for a Host in Cleveland, OH to welcome guests, manage arrivals, and help keep the front of the restaurant organized throughout each shift. Instead of handling customer requests over the phone, you’ll be interacting directly with guests and helping shape their experience from the moment they arrive.

The role would suit someone coming from call center, customer support, reception, retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing work who enjoys working with people and wants to develop their customer service skills in a different environment.

Day to Day

• Welcome guests and provide a friendly first point of contact
• Manage the waiting list and provide guests with accurate wait-time information
• Organize table assignments and coordinate seating
• Escort guests to their tables when required
• Answer basic questions about the restaurant, menu, seating, and services
• Respond to phone calls and general guest enquiries
• Communicate with servers and other team members about table availability
• Monitor the entrance and waiting area throughout the shift
• Keep menus, host areas, and guest-facing spaces organized
• Assist with guest requests and involve a manager when additional support is required
• Help with opening, closing, and routine front-of-house duties

What’s Important

You’ll need good communication skills, a welcoming and professional approach, strong organization, and the ability to remain composed during busy periods.

Previous host, restaurant, hospitality, retail, reception, customer service, or front-of-house experience is useful, although training on our procedures will be provided.

We’re looking for someone who can manage guest requests, communicate effectively with the wider team, keep track of seating information, and create a positive first impression.
