The Merchant Kitchen & Drinks is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Food Runner to support daily restaurant service and help ensure food orders reach guests accurately and efficiently. This role involves delivering food and beverages to tables, assisting servers, maintaining organized service areas, and communicating order details with kitchen and front-of-house team members. The ideal candidate is attentive, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and professionally
• Verify order details and table information before delivering items
• Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to maintain efficient order flow
• Assist servers with routine guest-service needs during busy periods
• Ensure food is presented and delivered according to restaurant standards
• Help clear and organize tables as needed
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service stations
• Restock plates, utensils, napkins, trays, and other service supplies
• Monitor completed orders and help coordinate timely delivery to guests
• Communicate guest requests or order concerns to servers and kitchen staff
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine restaurant duties
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace procedures
• Work cooperatively with kitchen, server, host, and management teams

Qualifications

• Previous food runner, restaurant, café, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful
• Friendly, professional, and respectful approach to guests
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Good attention to order accuracy and table details
• Able to remain organized while handling multiple orders
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Willingness to learn restaurant procedures and service standards
