About The Parlour Room

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, The Parlour Room offers an elegant yet inviting dining experience featuring refined American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an impressive collection of over 400 whiskies.

Our distinctive space combines old-world charm with modern hospitality, featuring plush velvet booths, tassel bar lamps, a wood-burning fireplace, and a stunning 1920s Italian Baroque chandelier. Custom furnishings designed in Ireland complete an atmosphere that celebrates the art of whiskey and hospitality.

At The Parlour Room, we believe exceptional service and genuine hospitality are what turn first-time visitors into regular guests.

The Role

As a Host, you are the first and last impression of The Parlour Room. You'll play an essential role in setting the tone for each guest's experience while helping ensure the restaurant operates smoothly.

The ideal candidate is warm, confident, organized, and able to balance genuine hospitality with the demands of a busy dining room. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of the guest experience and works closely with the management and service teams.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and engage guests upon arrival.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Provide accurate wait times and communicate clearly with guests.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Coordinate with management and service staff to maintain an organized and efficient seating flow.
• Monitor dining room availability and help maximize seating opportunities without compromising the guest experience.
• Answer incoming calls and assist with guest inquiries and reservation requests.
• Recognize regular guests and help create personalized experiences.
• Accommodate special requests and guests requiring additional attention.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
• Support the service team and management as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous hosting experience in a high-volume, upscale, or casual fine dining restaurant preferred.
• Strong understanding of restaurant etiquette and hospitality standards.
• Experience with reservation management systems; OpenTable experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, professional, and confident demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Ability to manage the flow of a busy dining room while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to teamwork.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.

Schedule & Availability

• Open availability strongly preferred.
• Evening shifts only.
• Late-night availability required on Fridays and Saturdays.
• Weekend and holiday availability preferred.
