Position Summary

From critically acclaimed Chef Sameh Wadi, Saffron is reopening this year in Northeast Minneapolis, with a menu and experience deeply rooted in Palestinian culture. The restaurant will be a celebration of culture, resilience, and hospitality: the ultimate dinner party you want to be invited to, where abundance, generosity, and connection define the experience.

We are assembling a team of the best in the industry to create an exceptional, warm, and welcoming guest experience at Saffron. We are looking for hosts to run our front door. Hosts are the first impression of our restaurant to our guests. Their warmth, brightness and welcoming disposition ensure guests feel taken care of. They remain friendly and engaging while calculating and plotting table turns, managing reservations and the waitlist. The ideal candidate is friendly, positive, thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard setting, and has a drive to support and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Answering all phone calls, taking reservations over the phone
• Warmly greeting all guests as they come through the door
• Seating guests
• Managing the waitlist
• Managing timing and flow of reservations and walk-ins
• Managing seating delays, and communicating with guests and managers
• Communicating guest preferences, special occasions, and allergies to the appropriate server and a manager
• Predicting and notifying management of seating delays
• Communicating with bartenders on taking orders for guests waiting to be seated
• Clearing and resetting tables
• Maintaining neat and tidy bathrooms
• Keeping restaurant entrance clean and tidy before and during service
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

• Ability to think and communicate clearly in high pressure situations

• Spatial awareness
• Ability to work as a team and assist service team
• Confidence in communicating with guests
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Passion for hospitality and guest experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry trays up to 25–40 lbs
