Host/Hostess Job Description

Duties:

• Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus
• Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements efficiently
• Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries
• Use POS systems, such as Heartland POS, to process orders and payments accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest concerns or special requests promptly
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests

Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of phone etiquette and hospitality practices is a plus
• Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with ease
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
