Host / Server – Kawa Omakase

Kawa Omakase is an upscale Japanese dining restaurant offering a refined omakase experience with seasonal ingredients, creative courses, and attentive hospitality.

We are looking for professional, friendly, and detail-oriented Hosts and Servers to join our front-of-house team. Candidates should have a genuine passion for hospitality and be committed to providing an exceptional guest experience.

HOST RESPONSIBILITIES

• Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements
• Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
• Coordinate seating and table availability with servers and management
• Maintain an organized and professional host station
• Assist guests with special requests and accommodations
• Communicate reservation notes, allergies, celebrations, and special occasions to the service team
• Maintain a polished, welcoming atmosphere from arrival through departure
• Assist the FOH team as needed during service

SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide professional, attentive, and polished fine-dining service
• Guide guests through our omakase experience and menu offerings
• Clearly explain dishes, ingredients, preparation methods, and course progression
• Take food and beverage orders accurately
• Serve food, wine, sake, cocktails, and other beverages
• Coordinate closely with chefs and the FOH team to maintain proper course timing
• Monitor guest needs throughout the dining experience without being intrusive
• Maintain table cleanliness and proper fine-dining presentation
• Accurately process guest checks and payments
• Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and restaurant policies
• Help create a memorable and personalized experience for every guest

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
• Fine-dining, upscale restaurant, sushi, or omakase experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn detailed food, sake, wine, and cocktail knowledge
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Experience with Japanese cuisine is preferred but not required. We are willing to train candidates who demonstrate professionalism, hospitality, and a strong desire to learn.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
