Job Summary

KYU Miami is seeking a friendly, polished, and guest-focused Host / Hostess to join the front-of-house team. The ideal candidate will warmly welcome guests, manage seating and reservations, coordinate table flow, answer questions, and help create an organized and welcoming dining experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide professional hospitality from arrival to departure.
• Manage guest arrivals, seating, reservations, and waitlists efficiently.
• Coordinate table assignments and maintain an organized dining-room flow.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Answer questions about the menu, restaurant services, and seating options.
• Communicate guest needs and special requests to servers and management.
• Monitor table availability and coordinate with the service team during busy periods.
• Manage phone calls and assist with reservation inquiries.
• Maintain accurate reservation and waitlist information.
• Provide clear wait-time information and updates to waiting guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entry area.
• Assist with guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
• Support servers and other front-of-house team members as needed.
• Follow restaurant service, safety, and cleanliness procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other front-of-house duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management.

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain organized in a busy restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of reservation or POS systems is a plus.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous upscale or full-service restaurant experience.
• Host stand and reservation management experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
