Job Summary

Aldo's Ristorante is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and organized Host / Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. The ideal candidate will greet guests warmly, manage reservations and wait lists, coordinate seating, communicate with the restaurant team, and help create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from arrival through seating.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service upon arrival.
• Manage the restaurant entrance, host stand, reservations, and guest seating.
• Accurately record reservations, wait-list information, and seating requests.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus as appropriate.
• Communicate estimated wait times clearly and professionally.
• Monitor table availability and coordinate seating with servers and restaurant management.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, dining areas, reservations, and restaurant procedures.
• Communicate guest requests and special seating needs to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area.
• Assist with managing guest flow during busy service periods.
• Help coordinate takeout, pickup, and other front-of-house requests when needed.
• Handle guest concerns in a polite and professional manner and involve management when appropriate.
• Assist servers and other front-of-house team members as needed.
• Follow restaurant service, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other assigned front-of-house duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management.

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accurate reservation and seating information.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a restaurant team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

• Previous restaurant host/hostess or front-of-house experience.
• Familiarity with reservation and table-management systems.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
