Job Summary

Shake Shack is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and organized Host / Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. The ideal candidate will greet guests warmly, assist with seating and guest flow, answer questions, communicate with the restaurant team, and help create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service upon arrival.
• Manage the restaurant entrance, host area, and guest seating.
• Assist with seating and maintain an organized guest flow.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, restaurant procedures, and available options.
• Communicate guest requests and special needs to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming entrance and host area.
• Assist with managing guest flow during busy service periods.
• Help coordinate takeout, pickup, and other front-of-house requests when needed.
• Handle guest questions and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
• Assist front-of-house team members as needed.
• Follow restaurant service, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other assigned front-of-house duties.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management.

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accurate guest and seating information.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a restaurant team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

• Previous restaurant host/hostess or front-of-house experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week

Work Location: In person
