Host / Hostess

Milk & Honey Gulch is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and dependable Host / Hostess to greet guests and support the front-of-house team. This role involves welcoming customers, managing the host stand, coordinating seating, answering basic questions, and helping maintain an organized and positive guest experience. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests promptly with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Manage the host stand and assist with guest seating throughout the shift.
• Maintain accurate information about table availability and restaurant capacity.
• Provide estimated wait times and communicate seating information clearly to guests.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Answer basic questions about menu items, restaurant services, and seating.
• Communicate guest needs and special requests with servers, kitchen staff, and management.
• Assist with reservations, waitlists, and guest inquiries according to restaurant procedures.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and presentable entrance and host area.
• Monitor dining-room flow and help coordinate table turnover.
• Assist servers and other front-of-house team members during busy periods.
• Support opening, closing, and routine restaurant duties as assigned.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace procedures.
• Provide courteous assistance throughout each guest's visit.

Qualifications

• Previous host, hostess, restaurant, café, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, professional, and welcoming approach to guests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing restaurant environment.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Able to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
• Comfortable learning reservation, waitlist, and seating procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
