Job Summary

Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant is seeking a friendly, organized, and guest-focused Host / Hostess to join the front-of-house team. The ideal candidate will create a welcoming first impression, greet and seat guests, manage reservations and waitlists, answer questions, and help maintain smooth communication between guests and restaurant team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
• Greet guests promptly upon arrival and assist with seating
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments accurately
• Provide estimated wait times and communicate seating updates professionally
• Answer phone calls and assist with reservation and general restaurant inquiries
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate
• Monitor dining room flow and coordinate table availability with the service team
• Communicate guest requests and special occasions to servers and management
• Assist with accommodating special seating requests when possible
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area
• Help distribute menus, menus inserts, and other guest materials
• Support front-of-house team members during busy service periods
• Assist with opening, closing, and other assigned front-of-house duties
• Handle guest questions and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management

Requirements

• Previous host, hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods
• Basic computer, reservation system, or POS experience is a plus
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
