Job Summary

Federal American Grill is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Host / Hostess to welcome guests and help coordinate the front-of-house experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to stay organized in a busy restaurant environment.

The Host / Hostess will greet arriving guests, manage the seating flow, maintain an organized waiting area, and communicate with the service team to help keep restaurant operations running smoothly. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys hospitality and working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and the waiting list according to restaurant procedures.
• Escort guests to available tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Communicate seating updates and special requests to servers and management.
• Coordinate table availability with the service team.
• Keep the entrance, reception area, and waiting area clean and organized.
• Answer incoming calls and provide basic restaurant information.
• Assist with reservation inquiries and direct questions to the appropriate team member.
• Help manage guest flow during busy dining periods.
• Support table organization and front-of-house preparation as needed.
• Handle guest concerns politely and refer complex issues to management.
• Follow restaurant policies and maintain professional service standards.

Requirements

• Previous hospitality, reception, or restaurant experience is preferred.
• Friendly communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and a welcoming attitude.
• Strong organization and time-management abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work cooperatively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff.
• Basic computer or reservation-system skills are an advantage.
• Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
