Host / Hostess

Job Summary

NORMS Restaurant is seeking a friendly, organized, and guest-focused Host / Hostess to welcome customers and help create a positive dining experience. This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills who enjoys working with people in a busy, team-oriented restaurant. The Host / Hostess will greet guests, manage the waiting list, coordinate seating arrangements, and communicate with servers to keep service running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive and thank them as they leave.
• Manage the waiting list and provide accurate estimated wait times.
• Seat guests efficiently while considering party size, seating preferences, and table availability.
• Answer phone calls and respond to general questions about the restaurant.
• Provide menus and communicate seating information to guests and servers.
• Coordinate with servers and bussers to maintain an even flow of guests.
• Keep the entrance, host stand, and waiting area clean and organized.
• Communicate special seating requests and guest concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Assist with reservations or customer inquiries according to restaurant procedures.
• Support the team with additional front-of-house duties when needed.
• Follow restaurant service standards and maintain a professional appearance.

• Previous hosting or restaurant experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
