Job Summary

Junior's Restaurant & Bakery is seeking a friendly, organized, and guest-focused Host / Hostess to join its hospitality team in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will welcome guests, coordinate seating, manage wait times, and help create a positive first impression. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys interacting with people, communicates professionally, and can stay organized in a busy restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and assist them as they arrive.
• Manage the host stand, seating arrangements, and guest waitlists.
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when needed.
• Communicate estimated wait times clearly and professionally.
• Coordinate with servers and restaurant managers to balance seating.
• Answer phone calls and respond to general guest inquiries.
• Assist with reservation management and special seating requests.
• Keep the entrance and host station clean, organized, and presentable.
• Respond to guest concerns politely and involve management when necessary.
• Support the restaurant team during busy periods to maintain smooth service.

Qualifications

• Previous host, hostess, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy service periods.
• Familiarity with reservation systems or restaurant POS systems is an advantage.
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a team.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
