Host / Hostess – Evening & Weekend

Iza Whiskey & Eats and Sora Sushi & Bar are looking for friendly, dependable hosts to join our front-of-house team in Carrboro!

We’re two locally owned restaurants located side by side, and we’re continuing to grow our team for the school year and upcoming holiday season.

This is a great position for someone looking to get started in the restaurant industry, a student looking for part-time evening work, or someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people. Previous restaurant experience is helpful, but definitely not required — we’re happy to train the right person!

What You’ll Do

As a host, you’re one of the first people our guests interact with, so we’re looking for someone who is welcoming, attentive, and comfortable communicating with both guests and the rest of the team.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting guests and creating a welcoming first impression
• Managing the waitlist and reservations
• Seating guests and keeping track of table rotation
• Answering phones and assisting with guest questions
• Helping organize takeout orders
• Communicating with servers, bartenders, and management throughout service
• Helping reset and prepare tables
• Keeping the host area and entrance clean and organized
• Assisting the FOH team with small tasks during busy service

Schedule

Both restaurants are open for dinner service seven days a week.

Sunday–Thursday: 5 PM–10 PM
Friday–Saturday: 5 PM–11 PM

Shifts begin at 4 PM. Exact end times depend on business and the shift.

We’re looking for people who can consistently work at least 2 shifts per week. Friday and Saturday availability is especially helpful.

We have many students on our team and do our best to work around consistent school schedules and extracurricular commitments.

No previous restaurant experience is required.

If you’re interested in eventually becoming a server, hosting is also a great way to learn how the restaurant operates before moving into other FOH positions.

We love being able to develop people from within the team, so there can be opportunities to cross-train and take on additional responsibilities as you gain experience. We understand that many of our team members are balancing school, extracurriculars, family, and work, and we try to provide consistency and flexibility where we can.

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
