Hostel Front Desk Staff

Hostel Front Desk Staff role involving guest reception, booking management, payment handling, and security responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, verify bookings, issue room keys, and manage check-in and check-out procedures
• Respond to guests' questions and provide information on hostel & facilities, services, rules, and nearby amenities
• Maintain accurate records of room availability, reservations, extensions, cancellations, and room allocations
• Collect room charges, deposits, and applicable fees; issue receipts and maintain proper cash records
• Handle incoming calls, messages, emails, and enquiries professionally and ensure information is communicated to relevant staff
• Receive and address guest complaints promptly, resolve routine issues, and escalate serious matters to the supervisor
• Monitor guest access, manage keys/cards, record visitors where required, and report suspicious activities or security concerns
• Report room defects, maintenance issues, cleaning requirements, and urgent repairs to relevant departments
• Maintain guest registers, incident reports, daily handover records, occupancy reports, and other required documentation
• Ensure guests comply with hostel rules, maintain a safe and orderly reception area, and assist during emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, or other incidents
