What We Are Looking For

We're looking for a responsible and caring Hostel Warden who enjoys working with people, maintains discipline fairly, and is committed to creating a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for our employees.

You will play an important role in overseeing hostel operations, ensuring house rules are followed, resolving residents' concerns, and supporting the wellbeing of employees staying at our company hostel.

A. Hostel Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company hostel
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of hostel facilities
• Manage room allocation, check-in, and check-out arrangements
• Report maintenance issues and follow up until they are resolved
• Ensure hostel inventory and facilities are properly maintained

B. Resident Management

• Enforce hostel rules and company policies fairly and consistently
• Monitor residents' behaviour and maintain a peaceful living environment
• Attend to residents' enquiries, complaints, and welfare concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate hostel occupancy and resident records
• Coordinate with relevant departments regarding employee accommodation matters

C. Safety & Security

• Ensure residents comply with hostel safety regulations
• Conduct routine checks to maintain a safe and secure hostel environment
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents promptly
• Support investigations involving hostel-related disciplinary matters when required

D. Government & Authority Liaison

• Liaise with relevant government departments and authorities regarding hostel and foreign worker matters.
• Coordinate with Jabatan Tenaga Kerja (JTK) and other relevant authorities for hostel-related applications, approvals and inspections.
• Prepare and maintain documents required for government inspections and approvals.
• Assist during government/authority visits and inspections.
• Ensure hostel facilities and documentation are properly prepared for inspections.
• Follow up on approvals, requirements, corrective actions and other matters raised by authorities.

You'll Likely Be a Great Fit If You Have

• Minimum SPM/Diploma qualification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hostel, dormitory, property, or accommodation management is an added advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to handle people with patience, firmness, and professionalism
• Basic computer knowledge for record keeping
• Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, or after office hours when operationally required
