About the role

To insure restaurant product quality standards are met at all times and optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to standards under the direction of the Manager/Section Manager, and within the limits of established Policies and Procedures. To assist the Restaurant Manager and Asst. Restaurant Manager with the Day-To-Day Operation. To receive reservations and records into the reservation book. Prompt and efficient service is a must! The strength and sincerity of our image should reflect at all times through friendly, courteous and helpful manners.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate seating of guest so as to balance the number of tables for each station
• Accurately accept reservations, and be responsible for the daily total guest count
• Inspect equipment and linen supply in room to see that everything is in order
• Check service to see if guests are satisfied
• Report any difficulties, compliments or complaints to the Restaurant Manager
• Read, maintain and make entries in the daily log
• Issue all guest checks to Food Servers
• Maintain cleanliness, maintenance and order of menus and wine lists
• Check the cleanliness of floor, furniture, windows, curtains and walls within the restaurant prior to service commencement
• Answer the telephone and take messages for guests

About you

• Diploma plus technical certificate or above in related field
• 5 years experience from 4 or 5 star properties
• Flexibility, imaginative, business minded, hard working and Energetic
• Must be team orientated
• Must be able to demonstrate recent successes in a comparable position
• Communicates openly and clearly in English
• Sets high personal performance standards
• Adapts quickly and positively to new situations
• Confidence in representing the hotel both internally and externally
• Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements
